Life is Designed to Get Better
In this episode, Amanda Hennessy interviews Angie and talks about her mission to empower people to find their life purpose and make shifts towards living meaningful, happy lives.
According to Angie, “life is designed to get better.” She feels that if we believe this, we will always come out the other side a better version of ourselves. In this episode, she talks about transformations and how they do not occur overnight. She believes that for us to step up to a higher calling, we have to take a deep look in the mirror and really dive into both the light and the dark.
Angie talks about the internal work we must do if we want to grow into a better version of ourselves. She says we must be willing and brave enough to look deep at what it is we are running from. According to Angie, we all have something. No one is different in that. We all have past traumas and experiences that cause us to feel shame and pain.
Angie also uses this to talk about confidence. She believes that as you dig into your life and heal certain traumas, you will gain more confidence which will allow you to investigate something deeper next. This is part of the healing process; it’s the inner work that will ultimately allow us to grow and step into our life purpose.
As we allow ourselves to feel and heal, our motivation to do more work on ourselves becomes different and as we begin to see beyond ourselves, we are led towards our greater purpose. Angie refers to this type of healing as a gate we have to walk through to be able to see our life mission. She also talks about her own story and how her confidence has grown the most when she has taken on the unknown and has come out the other side.
Dark Night of the Soul
Angie also discusses the dark night of the soul, when we experience a feeling like God has abandoned us or a feeling that life has given upon us. We tend to feel alone in a dark tunnel, and we can’t see the other side. While other people around us know that we will come out the other side, we are unable to see that for ourselves until we do the work.
Once we experience the dark night of the soul and come out the other side, Angie says we start to experience relationships in a whole different way. She talks about how when we do the work and realizes we will always be OK, we will no longer seek relationships to fill those dark holes because we will feel whole.
Everyone Has a Life Purpose: We Need to Peel Back the Layers to Find It
In this episode, Angie also talks about how she believes that we live our lives in patterns and live the same lessons over and over. For instance, if you look at a crisis you went through as a teenager, you will probably go through similar things as an adult. This is a process Angie refers to as peeling back layers of an onion to learn the lessons that we need to reach our life purpose.
She says everyone has a purpose, and in fact, we all already know our life purpose.
Angie says this is an absolute that she believes in. She believes everyone has a purpose and with every layer we peel back and with each step we take to do the work to grow and heal, we will have more clarity of what that purpose is and what we should be doing.
