Insight Timer is a free meditation app and a true gift to all of us whether we are beginners or more advanced mindfulness students. It is available in the App Store and on Google Play and is full of features that help you meditate and create mindfulness practices for yourself.
I’ve been using Insight Timer and recommending it to friends and clients for many years. It’s the one thing that always comes to mind when someone says, “I want to learn about mediation and mindfulness but I just don’t have the time or I don’t know where to start”.
It’s easy to learn, easy to use and always available because it lives on your smartphone.
It’s this time of year, in January, when many people reassess their lives and set new goals about increasing their commitment to live a more meaningful and deliberate lifestyle. Mindfulness and creating more balance in your life is where you begin. Why? Because we are all so busy we don’t think we have time. If we want to add something important to our lives, we have to make space for it. We also have to teach ourselves to slow down to catch up and that that’s ok.
I’ve worked with so many clients over the years that suffer with over scheduled lives and busy-ness. Even when we yearn for something different, it’s hard to make sustainable change. It takes commitment, practice and devotion to wanting something better for yourself and your family. Sometimes we just need a place to start. Maybe that is Insight Timer for you.
Here’s a desciption of Insight Timer according to their Facebook page.
Insight Timer is the world’s most popular meditation timer app. Insight Timer has been featured in US News & World Report, Forbes Magazine, Men’s Journal Magazine, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times and O, The Oprah Magazine.
If you’re new to meditation, you’ll find introductory guided mediations and a supportive community to help you get started.
If you’re an experienced meditator, you’ll feel right at home with our beautiful Tibetan singing bowls and guided meditations by experienced teachers that you know and respect.
With free guided meditations by your favorite teachers: Eckhart Tolle, Thich Nhat Hanh, Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, Jon Kabat-Zinn and many more.
I’ve been fortunate enough to spend time in person with some of these great teachers. I can tell you that every minute was precious. So, take a few minutes out of your busy schedule and spend them with some of the top meditation experts in the world. It’s free, easy and with you all the time…right there on your smart phone. You choose….yell at the person who cuts you off in traffic or listen to something inspirational while you’re driving.
And remember, spiritual practice is called practice for a reason. Be careful not to judge yourself or your experience. Commit to a trial period and reassess at the end of that period.
Blessing to you and cheers to your personal growth and happiness.
